SideShow Events’ brand new act for 2015 TheDeckchair Dandies recently appeared at the May Ball for the wonderful Reach Charity at the Woodbury Park Hotel near Exeter. Barnaby Bucket (pron. ‘bouquet’) and Simeon Spade (pron. ‘sparday’) were there to meet and greet the arriving guests and entertain at the tables with close-up magic during a fantastic meal put on by the hotel. The room was fully decked out with beach paraphernalia; life belts, driftwood sailing boats, pebble beaches, wind-breaks and giant beach balls; a spectacular scene for everyone attending and a great setting for an evening of fundraising for such a worthy cause.
After dinner, The Deckchair Dandies presented a splendidly hilarious half hour stage show, including a never before seen trick that brought the house down. Not to mention a few sandcastles…
The Reach May Ball 2015 raised an amazing £18,000 for the Reach Charity; a fantastic amount!
About Reach: There are many types of upper limb deficiency, the anomaly is so varied that obtaining support can be difficult. Many professionals involved in health care do not see enough cases to build up expertise. Reach hopes that by pooling the knowledge of its membership it can offer a level of support to all. Some children in Reach are missing all or part of an arm, others have partial hands or possible malformed or missing fingers or thumb, others a muscle weakness. Some may also have lower limb deficiencies or other conditions.
